Scentroid Wins Smart Cities AI Challenge at ALL IN 2026

Canadian sensor and AI-fusion company recognized at Canada’s largest AI event for its Operational Digital Twin platform, presented by Strategic Programs Manager Armin Safavi

STOUFFVILLE, ONTARIO, September 18, 2026: Scentroid, a Canadian sensor platform manufacturer and multi-modal AI sensor fusion company, has won the Smart Cities AI Challenge at ALL IN 2026, Canada’s largest AI and technology event, held September 16–17 in Montréal.

The Smart Cities AI Challenge is a reverse-pitch competition in which Canadian AI companies present working solutions to real problems identified by partner municipalities. Entries are judged by a jury of city representatives and AI industry leaders. Scentroid was selected as one of several finalists and presented on stage at ALL IN 2026.

Scentroid was represented by Armin Safavi, Strategic Programs Manager, who leads the company’s strategy for entering additional dual-use markets and previously worked in intelligence and strategic analysis roles with the Ministry of Public Safety and the Department of National Defence. Safavi’s pitch, “Operational Digital Twins,” demonstrated how Scentroid turns live sensor data into a real-time model of a city.

Turning Sensor Data Into Decisions

At the core of our pitch is Scentroid’s SIMS3 fusion engine. It combines live data streams (air quality, weather, chemical monitoring, vision and camera feeds, LiDAR, and sewer and infrastructure monitoring) into a shared operational picture, correlating data across sensor types and localizing pollution or threat sources on a live, continuously updating map of the city.

The technology is already deployed at city scale, including an operational digital twin for several municipalities covering emissions monitoring, noise intelligence, pollution detection, and critical infrastructure protection, as well as urban mapping projects in Toronto. Scentroid’s sensor platforms have also supported monitoring at major public events.
