Scentroid builds distributed AI sensing platforms that deliver real-time situational awareness to extend human intelligence at the tactical edge.
No single point of failure.
Operates in denied and degraded environments.
Fast decisions. No cloud dependency.
Intelligence when and where it matters most.
Our XI platforms integrate multi-modal AI sensor fusion into airborne, dropped, and wearable sensing hardware to produce confident, user-friendly outputs.
XIcore builds AI platforms that extend human intelligence. Every output carries a confidence score. Every alert is interpretable. Every decision remains with the operator.
Every node is independently intelligent. Inference runs locally; no cloud dependency, no single point of failure, no latency at the moment of decision.
Nodes correlate data across the network to produce threat tracks, plume maps, and movement vectors that no single sensor could generate alone.
The intelligence layer that transforms distributed sensors into human-ready decisions, with confidence scores, human-in-the-loop controls, and privacy-preserving architecture built in from the ground up.
XIcore platforms operate where connectivity is denied, threats are complex, and failure is not an option.
Persistent battlespace awareness and force protection.
Long-duration unattended sensor networks in forward terrain.
Perimeter and asset protection for high-value facilities.
Wide-area unattended ground sensor networks.
Venue-scale CBRN, RF, and visual threat monitoring.
Rapid-deploy CBRN mapping and environmental intelligence.
Scentroid Defense is a division of Scentroid (IDES Canada Inc.), a Canadian sensing company with systems deployed in 45+ countries, across environments from Arctic tundra to urban megacities. Our edge AI and swarm intelligence is grounded in University of Toronto research and validated at scale.

Street-Level Intelligence at City Scale
UrbanScanner US20 transformed vehicles into mobile sensing platforms capable of building high-resolution environmental intelligence across the Greater Toronto Area. Combining LiDAR mapping, geospatial analytics, and multi-pollutant sensing, the platform generated street-level digital representations of urban environments while continuously monitoring air quality and infrastructure conditions. The resulting datasets enabled municipalities and researchers to better understand pollution sources, traffic patterns, and environmental health through real-time spatial analysis.
Turning a City into a Living Operational Picture
Working with Dubai Municipality, SIMS3 provided the foundation for a city-scale digital twin capable of integrating distributed sensor networks into a unified operational picture. Environmental conditions, infrastructure performance, and emerging threats were transformed into actionable intelligence within a single platform. Through targeted alerts, anomaly detection, and real-time analytics, the system enabled decision-makers to identify concerns early and respond with precision across one of the world’s most advanced smart cities.
Connecting Legacy Systems for Real-Time Decision Advantage
For major sporting venues in Toronto, SUMA provided a modern integration layer that connected legacy systems and disparate sensing technologies into the SIMS platform. By ingesting and correlating data from multiple sources, the platform delivered real-time situational awareness and confidence-scored intelligence to emergency personnel and first responders. The result was a unified operational picture that enhanced response times and enabled informed decision-making during high-consequence public events.
