Thermal and Optical Imaging
Scentroid currently provides two enhanced camera features: thermal and optical imaging. Please click on the links provided below to view both camera types:
Thermal Camera
A non-contact device that detects infrared energy (heat) and converts it into a visual image
Optical Camera
A camera that enables visual detection of various volatile gas leaks using the latest standalone optical technology available.
Thermal Imaging Camera
Our Scentroid thermal imaging measures surface temperatures by interlacing infrared camera stills into video format. These tools see light within the heat spectrum and convert it into viewable colours. Our DR2000 units can now be fitted with these cameras, giving you the tools you need to record your entire UAV monitoring project.
With our thermal camera add-on, DR2000 inspections will be able to detect leaks from a variety of volatile organic compounds and pipelines. Aerial thermal inspections can also result in the early detection of damage to structural abnormalities, piping and detect other external and internal inconsistencies.

Small and Lightweight Thermal Camera
Virtually weightless camera technology will minimally affect your drone payload.
Optical Gas Imaging Camera
Our Scentroid optical gas imaging (OGI) camera provides the detection and visualization of methane, benzene, propane, butane, and many other hydrocarbon gas leaks. Our camera is lightweight and standalone, meaning vehicular or drone-based mounting is not required to use all of the camera’s features. These cameras ensure the safety of anyone working in or around oil and gas equipment.

Compact Optical Gas Imaging Camera
Our standalone camera is both compact and easy to use, allowing for maximum portability
30m altitude and 40m distance venting at 5 cubic feet per minute. This video shows the three distinct perforations placed in the test line, and the quantity of exhaust being emitted from it.
This particular clip is taken from a drone flying at an altitude of 40 meters and monitoring the plume from distances of 60 to 100 meters. The controlled release from the pipe is 4 cubic feet/min at a pressure of less than 5 Psi.
