Point Source

Overview

Odour emission from a single point (small opening) such as a stack. Sampling takes place by using a probe inserted into the stack sampling port to extract a sample. The temperature of the stack is to be considered during sampling so as to avoid condensation in the sampling container/bag. Diluting the sample is one method to achieve this. Note that the mixing of diluting air with stack gases should be made at the temperature of the stack sampling point.
