The Drone-Based Weather Station provides a robust platform to conduct both impact assessments and air quality measurements for a wide range of applications. Specifically, this includes the monitoring of fugitive emissions, flare emissions, and leak detection along oil pipelines. Additionally, it supports landfill methane detection, odour emissions, military or emergency applications, urban scanning, and much, much more! As a result, its versatility makes it an invaluable tool for various industries and scenarios.
Utilizing the DR1000 air analyzer, operators can not only collect and analyze valuable data, but they can also protect themselves from contact with potentially dangerous samples. Moreover, the DR1000 Flying Lab enables operators to maintain a safe distance while acquiring the necessary air sample for laboratory analysis in real time. Consequently, this advanced technology enhances both safety and efficiency in air quality monitoring.
Can travel any distance above ground level, up to 150 meters for sampling, set intervals for measurement, adjust the sampling rate, and perform maintenance
Live Data, updated every minute, can be accessed on location via the included Ground Station Tablet. Historical data can be accessed remotely using encrypted cloud-based hosting
Can be flown into environments that are potentially dangerous to personnel, such as harmful contaminants, flare plumes up to 40C or hard to access areas, either vertically or horizontally, for direct sampling
A thermal imaging camera can be installed for visual confirmation of fugitive emissions
Equipped with a fast charge battery for continuous operation of up to 3 hours, before recharging
9 Inch tablet equipped with LoRa communication capabilities and customized DRIMS2 mobile software
Using the Drone-Based Weather Station, operators can measure, monitor, and analyze contaminants through a series of sensors specifically selected for each unique application. Furthermore, with a library of hundreds of sensors, Scentroid ensures that every sensory requirement is covered! In addition, each DR1000 unit can be equipped with:
DR1000 analyzes data continuously while in flight at a rate of more than 100 samples per second.
Then transmits to the ground station using Long Range Radio (LoRa protocol), providing a secure & encrypted transmission of data
All Sensor Data is automatically stamped with GPS location (Latitude/Longitude), Elevation, Time, Date, Temperature and Relative Humidity
The data can be used for numerous applications using our proprietary DR1000 analysis software.
Scentroid’s DR1000 is completely self-contained and requires nothing from the attached drone except to operate as a vehicle. In addition, the DR1000 can be easily attached to any rotary-wing or fixed-wing drone with payload capabilities of 3 kg.
Furthermore, we have developed another Drone-Based Air Quality Monitor, the DR2000, which shares similar features. Therefore, speak to our consultant so we can provide the best air monitoring solution tailored to your needs.
The Scentroid DR1000 can be equipped with a miniature state-of-the-art pumping system that allows for the collection and storage of air samples within a sampling bag. Moreover, this easy-to-use system features one-touch activation on the Ground Station Tablet module, serving as a cost-effective air sample collection device.
Additionally, the DR1000 can collect samples directly from hard-to-reach and/or dangerous locations without the assistance of other sampling devices, such as flux chambers or wind tunnels. Consequently, this versatility enhances its practicality for various applications.

The DR1000 allows for monitoring and analyzing air quality in locations that were previously impossible for a wide variety of industries. Specifically, it enables horizontal monitoring over long distances, such as pipeline monitoring, across expansive wastewater lagoons, large-acre landfills, or agricultural facilities. Additionally, it supports vertical applications, including building exhausts, stacks, and storage tanks. Consequently, the DR1000 significantly enhances the ability to assess air quality in diverse and challenging environments.
The Scentroid Drone Information Management System, DRIMS2, is our all-inclusive software used to view historical data, run diagnostics, configure settings, and set alarm levels for the DR1000. Moreover, it is provided as part of the DR1000 package and can be installed on our on-board server (default), Scentroid’s cloud-based server (default), or on your localized server (optional).
In addition, the user-friendly graphical interface of DRIMS2 allows anyone to perform complicated data analytics without needing to be a GIS expert. Furthermore, it can control and display data from multiple DR1000s within the same fleet. As a result, users can analyze data and monitor progress remotely from a single platform, enhancing overall efficiency and convenience.
DRIMS2 provides easy analysis tools for an operator to determine pollutant hot spots, possible sources, sampled areas, and much more.
The Scentroid ground station consists of a specialized tablet connected to a miniature PC with a high-gain powerful communication antenna. Additionally, our tablets come pre-installed with our DRIMS2 Ground Station component software. This branch of the DRIMS2 software provides users with a means to log all acquired data as it occurs. Specifically, this includes all live data as well as historical data for sensors, such as GPS position, altitude, temperature, and humidity.
Moreover, the user can command the drone to determine when to take a sample and when to perform routine maintenance, such as calibrating sensors. The readings are continuous, and users can choose whether to display them live with our diagnostics feature or forward them to a database. If an optional on-board camera is present, a video feed will also be sent to the ground station for simultaneous viewing, further enhancing the monitoring experience.
The DR1000 comes with simultaneous GPRS and Wi-Fi communication capabilities. Specifically, the GPRS is used to send data to our Scentroid cloud server. In addition to using the Ground Station to communicate with our DRIMS2 system, you can also log into our secured DRIMS2 portal using any PC or laptop with a stable internet connection.
Furthermore, our DRIMS2 Analysis software serves as the perfect companion for any monitoring job—an offsite wealth of information is stored in a beautiful and easy-to-navigate interface. After securely logging in, users can select their drone, choose their flight date, favorite a specific entry, or even search for a particular sampling node.
Moreover, with access to a heat map along with the ability to view altitude in a 3D setting, managing a sensory project has never been easier—or more informative!
