Hyposmia
Hyposmia is the temporary or permanent partial loss to perceive odour. This may be due to infections, flu or cold or head trauma. This may lead to a raised detection threshold and an inability to judge odour intensity. A technician or panellist should refrain from performing odour measurements if they have a cold for example. This is outlined as a requirement in the EN13725 standard for an assessor.
