At Scentroid, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art solutions that go beyond traditional monitoring. Our holistic approach addresses the intricate challenges of landfill air quality management, offering a suite of technologies that harmonize with environmental standards and community expectations. Join us in shaping a sustainable future with intelligent air quality solutions.
Cutting-Edge Stationary Monitoring
Our stationary air quality monitors provide continuous, real-time data to track and manage emissions effectively. With precision and reliability at the core of our technology, these monitors are tailored to meet the stringent requirements of regulatory standards, and can be customized to monitor a wide variety of pollutants
Taking Monitoring Capabilities to New Heights!
Our drone-based air quality monitors offer a dynamic and comprehensive perspective. Unleashing the power of aerial surveillance, these drones enable a swift and thorough assessment of air quality across the entire landfill area. This not only enhances efficiency but also allows for a proactive approach to minimizing environmental impact.
Convenient Olfactometry Solutions
Our portable solutions provide the flexibility needed for on-the-go assessments. Olfactometric monitoring ensures that not only are emissions within regulatory limits but also that the odorous elements are effectively managed, promoting a harmonious coexistence with neighbouring communities.
Monitor Your Local Community
Our Sensitive Receptor Tracking services elevate monitoring to the next level. We offer a comprehensive system to trace and analyze the impact of emissions on specific receptors, empowering authorities and operators with actionable insights for informed decision-making.
Landfill and Compost Monitoring Overview
Track your sensitive receptors, and view the direct effects an emission source may have on them, down to the odour unit per second value!
Using “Event Triangulation” SIMS3 AI can pinpoint the location of unknown sources and determine their contribution to the complaints received
A typical landfill requires approximately 6-8 air quality monitoring devices strategically stationed around the facility perimeter based on collected data.
Track the sudden and adverse changes in the operational and environmental dynamics of your landfill site. These disruptions can result from various factors, such as changes in waste composition, weather events, equipment malfunctions, or operational errors.
Our cutting-edge technology allows for meticulous monitoring and mapping of specific odor-emitting areas within the landfill. By identifying and tracking these known sources, our solutions enable landfill operators to proactively address and manage odorous emissions. Scentroid’s advanced tracking mechanisms not only enhance regulatory compliance but also empower operators to implement targeted strategies for odor control.
Once odour complaints are filed, SIMS3 will collect them and visually present them in a mappable, easy-to-read format. SIMS3 AI will also analyze the contributor of the source that led to the complaint.

Stationary Equipment
Landfill and Compost zones emit a diverse array of airborne chemicals, the composition of which depends on factors such as waste type, decomposition processes, and environmental conditions. Chief among these is methane (CH4), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), Ammonia (NH3), Carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O) and Particulate matter (PM). To monitor your plant, Scentroid recommends our CTair and our Scentinal stationary continuous air quality monitors.
Odour Patrol
The Odour Patrol methodology was developed by Scentroid in 2015 to map the odour impact of the entirety of the city of Ras Laffan in Qatar, and has since been used in Canada, UAE, USA, Italy, Chile and many more countries with great success. This combines the use of the field olfactometer SM100i, and handheld or mobile ambient air quality monitors. These could range from the Scentroid US20, to the DR2000 flying laboratory, and the TR8 Odotracker product lines.
Triangulation of Unknown Sources
If you are trying to determine the location of potentially unknown sources, SIMS3 offers a triangulation mode and identifier to assist you with pinpointing unknown sources. SIMS3 features the ability to perform triangulation from odour events or from ambient air monitoring equipment readings.
Odour Complaint Justification
Landfill Air Quality and Odour Complaints
Once entered, SIMS3 will determine whether an odour complaint is justified or not. Red indicates that the complaint was automatically categorized as “justified”, those in green would be recorded, but categorized as “not justified,” those in yellow would be recorded and categorized as “to be justified”. Furthermore, the user can use triangulation to determine the source of unjustified odours.
Odour Complaint Analysis
What are the Underlying Causes of your Odour Complaints?
SIMS3 features a correlation module that determines what events caused the greatest odours and what the contributing sources may have been. Furthermore, should your facility’s process events be recorded, SIMS3 will associate those events with odour increases.

SIMS3 Event Analytics
Event Analytics
Take your analytic capabilities even further by analyzing your recorded events, event types, and overall event activity. In this module, you will be able to determine your most triggered event type and the days with the highest recorded activity.
Odor Complaint Analytics
This module allows you to easily determine the justification analytics of all recorded odor events. View which days have had the highest justified or not justified events, view the correlation matrix with contributing events, and see which processes may have a connection to all recorded odor complaints.
Export Reports
The SIMS3 reporting module provides you with the tools you need to make informed decisions regarding your monitoring projects. At the click of a button, this document generates averages as well as thorough individual sensor reports. Users can schedule weekly, monthly, or annual reports emailed directly to them once generated!
