Upwind

← All Topics
Overview

The relative location of an observer with respect to a source of odour emission.  The direction of wind movement would first cross the observer followed by the source. An observer upwind of odorous sources usually do not smell an odour since the wind transports odour downwind.  For example, upwind of an incinerator.
