A Case Study for an Odour Investigation & Assessment for a Facility in the Food Industry, Nicole Shantz

In order for a facility to receive an air emissions permit, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC; Ontario, Canada) may require air dispersion modelling work to be completed if there have been odour complaints or a history of odour from the facility. Modelling may be used to determine the impacts of an odour emitted from a facility on sensitive receptors. We report on one such case where the MOECC requested a modelling assessment concerning odour complaints from a next door neighbour to a company in the food industry but that a modeled assessment was not appropriate.
